Some datasets can only be built in the physical world: street scenes, retail shelves, signage, regional accents recorded in the places they are spoken. Field collection is paid per assignment or per day, and where a project requires travel that is covered by the project rather than absorbed by you.
Assignments specify exactly what is needed, and consent and permission requirements are part of the brief rather than left to you to work out.
