Why does the payout method matter so much?
Because a rate you cannot collect is not a rate. Plenty of platforms quote well and then pay through a single method that charges heavily to reach your country, requires a bank account you do not have, or takes weeks.
In practice the payout rail is the difference between work being worth doing and not. It deserves as much attention as the headline rate, and it gets far less.
What methods are available where?
Mobile money is offered in the markets where it is genuinely how people are paid, rather than being treated as an exotic alternative to a bank transfer. Interac e-Transfer covers Canada. Wise covers the United Kingdom. Payoneer and bank transfer cover much of the rest.
Crypto is listed as coming soon. It is listed that way deliberately: announcing a rail before it works wastes the time of the people who would have chosen it.
What should you check before signing up anywhere?
Three things, in this order. Which methods are available in your specific country, not the platform's global list. What the minimum payout threshold is, because a low rate with a high threshold can mean months before anything arrives. And whether payment is conditional on a reviewer decision with no time limit.
