What Jwuma is, who it is for and what happens first.
Jwuma is a platform where people do AI data work: transcription, translation, annotation, evaluation, surveys, data entry and similar. It is run by Corpshore AI. You apply, we check who you are, and once you are verified you can take on tasks from the projects you are matched to. There is nothing to pay at any point.
No. There is no fee to apply, no fee to be verified, no fee to take a task and nothing to buy. Nobody from Jwuma will ever ask you for money, for a payment to release your earnings, or for a card number. If anybody asks you for money claiming to be from Jwuma, they are not, and you should tell us.
You apply, and your application is reviewed. Once accepted, your account opens and you verify your identity with a document and a short camera check. Then you complete the qualification assessment for the work you have been matched to. After that you can reserve tasks, send them for review, and approved work is paid out in batches to the payout method you set up.
A phone or computer with a working camera and a reliable internet connection is enough for most work. The camera is needed once, for the identity check. Some kinds of work ask for more, such as headphones for transcription or a quiet room for recording, and the project will say so before you take it on.
There are no fixed hours. You take tasks when you want them and there is no minimum. How much is available depends on the projects running, the languages you work in and where you are, so it varies week to week rather than being a steady amount.
You must be at least eighteen. The identity check confirms this, which is one of the reasons a document is needed rather than just a name.
No. Contributors work independently, choose which tasks to take and are paid for approved work rather than for time. That means there is no salary, no fixed hours and no notice period on either side. Whether you owe tax on what you earn depends on where you live, and that is between you and your own tax authority.
Verification proves who you are, and it is not the same as being matched to a project. After verification the next step is the qualification assessment for the work you have been matched to, and your dashboard shows which one and how long it takes. Tasks appear once that is passed and once a project needing your languages and skills is actually running. If your dashboard shows no assessment and no tasks, there is nothing open for your combination right now, and that is not a decision anybody has made about you. Availability moves as projects start, so it is worth checking back.
